The city of Abbottabad was founded in 1853 by Major James Abbott who was the first Deputy Commissioner of Abbottabad. It is a small but organized and clean town surrounded by green hills at an elevation of 1255 meters from sea level with a mild weather throughout the year. Apart from being a city of beautiful landscape and peaceful environment, it is also a source of attraction for the people from all over Pakistan due to its educational services. The city of Abbottabad lies at the threshold of Northern Pakistan. From anywhere across Pakistan, this city is easily reachable. It is only two hours drive from Islamabad, the capital of our country. One can say that all roads in Pakistan lead to Abbottabad.

CIIT Abbottabad Campus is ideally located in the vicinity of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul on land measuring about 350 kanals donated by Pakistan Army. It is situated near the Ayub Medical Complex, on university road. It is very well served by communication links, being five minutes drive from the Daewoo bus station, fifteen minutes drive from City bus station and lies close to one of the main highway called Mansehra Road which is served by many bus routes and is also familiar to taxi drivers.
Ayub Medical College is the immediate neighbor of CIIT. Other colleges and institutes like Abbottabad Public School & College, Frontier Medical College, Army Burn Hall College and Pakistan Military Academy are all in few miles range of CIIT Abbottabad. All these educational institutions complement each other and add to their confidence in promoting better education. Presence of all these educational setups in one place creates an atmosphere which is more prone to learning, research and competition. |
