To honor the outstanding students of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad campus, a prize distribution ceremony is held every semester. This semester a sum of 1,183,000 rupees are given as the scholarship money to 109 position holders. A simple but graceful event was organized in the student cafeteria on 01 October 2007. Director Dr. Haroon Rashid presented the certificates and scholarship money to the students. Head of all departments and faculty members also attended the ceremony to appreciate and encourage students for their efforts.

The highest GPA of the campus for the session spring 2007 is acquired by Sarah Waseem of BEE and her CGPA is a remarkable 3.99.

Addressing the occasion, Dr. Haroon Rashid said;

“Previously it was the practice that the students who concentrated on their studies were, generally, not very good at relationship building and socializing. But now the traditions have changes. Now it is the need of the day to present and communicate effectively for success.

So my message is to be a better person and to make friends and participate in campus activities as you are the people who represent CIIT to the world.
Further it is now your responsibility to acquire global knowledge about your fields and volunteer to utilize the resources that are provided to you from the scarce resources of a third world country.”

The fee award is given according to the following criteria in respect to full tuition fee;

• First position           100 % fee concession
• Second position      75% fee concession
• Third position          50% fee concession

* All positions are determined by the CGPA acquired by the student.
