Computing & Network Services (CNS)
Overview
Computing and Network Services (CNS) department provides access to the network and computing systems at the CIIT Abbottabad. The campus network facilities continue to grow at an increasing pace. The campus now uses over 500 desktop computers, all of which are attached to the campus network. Four computer labs are available for students:

Lab #1 50 PCs P-IV
Lab #2 42 PCs P-IV
Lab #3 50 PCs P-IV
Lab #4 54 PCs Core 2 Duo
Lab #5 54 PCs P-IV
Lab # 6 90 PCs P-IV
Operating System: Windows 200x/Linux

Labs are open from 08:00 to 09:00 P.M. with 24 hours Internet connectivity. One computer lab remains open up to mid night. Local Area Network of the campus is one of the largest in the academic institutes. CNS is responsible for providing the computing and network services and support to CIIT campus. Its activities are as under:

Advance Computing Lab

CNS also managing an Advance Computing Lab (ACL), loaded with following equipment. 
   • Sun SPARK V 240, dual processor, redundant power supply and hot swappable SCSI drives. 
   • Sun SPARK 1500 Blade workstation 
   • Sun SPARK 150 Blade workstation
ACL is used for research work of CS and Electronics department and for the final semester projects of Students.
