COMSATS Information Technology Center (CITC), 11-12 May 2009

COMSATS Information Technology Center (CITC) organized Conference of
Software Enterprises (CSE) during TechnoMoot 2009, one of the mega events organized annually by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Abbottabad, on May 11 – 12, 2009. The event was attended by large number of eminent scholars from all over the country. CITC organized several seminars and exhibitions during this event.
Main objective of organizing this event was to raise awareness about various technology
initiatives taken by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) and to grab
opportunities for industrial collaboration with large industrial organizations
within Hazara Region. IT professionals from leading organizations as well as educational
institutions attended this two day event. Participants were introduced to various software products developed by CITC for academic institutions. CUonline and COMSIS are among the two successful softwares developed and deployed by CITC for various colleges and universities of Pakistan.

CITC also organized a seminar on current technologies and trends in Information Technology sector. Renowned and distinguished speakers delivered
lectures on emerging trends in technology. Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and Dr. Akmal Mahota from Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE), Mr. Ahsan Aziz, GM, PTCL, Mr. Yahya Sethi, Senior Manager, Motorola and Murtaza Noor from Higher Education Commission (HEC) delivered talks on the said topic. They suggested new ways for initiating joint ventures with industry.

The exhibition included stalls by software and hardware vendors like
Nextbridge, Motorola, Digital Spinners, ION Resource Group, Acer and
Toshiba. These companies displayed their latest software solutions to the
participants. Hardware vendors also displayed their products at special
promotional rates.
