Overview
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2001 at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad. Initially the department was named Department of Computer Engineering and it offered only one undergraduate program of Computer Engineering, BS (CE). Based on the market demand, the Department offered Electronics Engineering program in September 2003.
Subsequently, Computer Engineering department was renamed as Electrical Engineering Department in the year 2004 offering two Bachelor programs of Computer Engineering and Electronics Engineering. In addition to undergraduate programs, the department also offered graduate program in Computer engineering. In September 2006, Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Power) Engineering was launched to fill the vacuum in this area.
