Department of Chemistry
Chemistry has a wide variety of important applications which creates constant demand for well-trained chemists in all field and facets of human existence. In order to meet the demands of qualified chemical scientists, the department is launching its pioneer program of BS (Chemistry) in Fall 2008 with
- An initial intake of 50 students
- Seven faculty members including four PhDs
- Four state-of-art laboratories
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
In view of the present and emerging needs of the pharmacy
profession, CIIT Abbottabad has recognized the immense
requirement and has established the Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences. The department will launch its pioneer program of Pharm-
D in Fall 2008 with:
- An initial intake of 50 students
- Seven faculty members including five PhDs
- Four state-of-art laboratories of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Basic Medical Sciences.
Department of Computer Sciences
Computers being the basis of life today, underline the importance of
a department dedicated to imparting knowledge of computers and its applications. Fulfilling the need of present times Department of
Computer Science was established in 2001.The department’s
profile at a glance is:
- Student strength increased from 31 to 438
- Improved its academic profile by Increasing undergraduate courses from one course of BS in Computer Science to two with the addition of BS in Telecommunication & Networking Offering graduate level course in Computer Sciences.
- Faculty strength of 61 including three PhDs
Department of Electrical Engineering:
Engineering technology education aims at preparing graduates for
practice in the domain of the technological spectrum closest to
product improvement, industrial processes, and engineering
operational functions. The department’s profile at a glance is;
- Student strength increased from 58 ( from inception in Fall 2001) to 1774(2008)
- Improved academic profile by Increasing undergraduate courses from one course of BS in Computer Engineering to three with the addition of BS in Electronics Engineering and BS in Electrical (Power) Engineering.
- Offering one graduate level course in Computer Engineering
- Faculty strength of 110 including six PhDs
- Thirteen state-of-art labs
Department of Environmental Sciences
Environmental professionals are required to work in a wide spectrum
of areas and therefore the demand for professionals capable of
performing multi-dimensional tasks in all fields relating to Water,
Sanitation, Environmental Hazards, Eco-Environment etc continues
to increase. The department’s profile at a glance is;
- Student strength increased from 13( from inception in Spring 2004) to 142(present)
- Improved academic profile by Offering one undergraduate course of BS in Environmental Sciences to two with the addition of BS in Earth Sciences as well
- Offering three graduate level courses in Environmental Sciences , Biotechnology and Sustainable Water Sanitation Health and Development
- Faculty strength of 22 including nineteen PhDs
- Four state-of-the-art labs

Department of Mathematics
