Successful Completion of Zakat Course at CIIT Abbottabad

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology IT Center (CITC) is providing IT services to community locally and nationally in the areas of IT Trainings, Software Development, Networks designing and implementation solutions, System and Network security. CITC contributed towards the local community development by offering free IT training to benefit the deprived community of district Abbottabad. The project was funded by District Zakat Committee Abbottabad. The duration of the course was six months.
Complete skill and hand-on experience was provided to the students in various IT related areas throughout the training. Certificates were distributed among the students who completed the training successfully. The Certificate distribution ceremony took place on August 5, 2009 at Azeem Shahzad Memorial Hall, CIIT Abbottabad. Provincial Minister Zakat Mr. Haji Zarshaid Khan graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Other guests from the Zakat office included Mr. Tariq Sultan Jadoon (Chairman District Zakat), Mr. Mubashir Raza Zaidi (Zakat Officer Abbottabad) and other Zakat and ANP personnels.
The ceremony was a success with more than 250 participants including students and guests. A total of 200 students were invited among whom 20 were handed certificates on stage while the rest of the certificates were distributed later-on in Azeem Shahzad Memorial Hall.
Chief Guest Mr. Haji Zarshaid Khan congratulated the students on successful completion of their IT training and applauded the efforts of CIIT Abbottabad for arranging and conducting the training in a very efficient and effective manner. Addressing the audience, he stated that Zakat Committee is ever committed to render all possible support for conducting such useful IT related training courses. He further enlightened the audience about the efforts of Zakat Committee in improving its current Zakat and Ushar distribution mechanism.
Dr. Bilal Zaka, Head CITC thanked the guests for their participation and congratulated the students on successfully completing their IT training program at CIIT Abbottabad. He said that CITC is feeling immense pleasure and great satisfaction to contribute in such a noble cause. He told the audience that CITC will continue to contribute in such noble causes sponsored or initiated by District Zakat Committee and other organizations for making the community of Pakistan well trained in IT related services and courses. Continuing, he elaborated in detail, the importance of IT in today's world and encouraged all students to join the field of IT.
The participating students expressed their gratitude to CIIT Abbottabad for providing them such a great opportunity to attend the training and get acquainted with such latest IT related functions. They were of the view that the training not only helped them learn unmatched technical knowledge in the field of IT but also provided a platform to learn a lot in terms of personal and professional development during their stay at CIIT Abbottabad. While giving interviews to a team of Radio Pakistan, they complimented the importance of this training program and said that the training provided them a life time opportunity to experience high quality environment and thanked all IT Professionals of CIIT Abbottabad for their indefatigable and untiring efforts in accustoming the students to various IT related functions.
