The HEC funded project entitled, ‘The removal of heavy metals from waste water by sono-electrolysis process’ was started in April 2006. The present research project was proposed for two years and is completed in due course of time i.e., in April 2008. The gaols and objectives of both years are successfully achieved. The project is accomplished with marvellous achievements;

  • this novel technique i.e., combination of electrochemical process and ultrasound is filled for United States Patent,
  • a research Associate Mr. Asim Yaqub has accomplished his MS Environmental Sciences, a research paper is submitted in the journal entitled, ‘Journal of Hazardous Material’,
  • the sono-electrochemical technique is successfully applied  for the treatment of industrial effluents.

The main purpose of the project was to develop environmental protection techniques to remove heavy metals in drinking water and in industrial effluents.
